AMANDA MOORE, CPM, LM
I am a nationally Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and a Licensed Midwife in the states of Hawaii and Oregon actively attending births for over 25 years.
I obtained my midwifery certification & licensure after working as an apprentice/student midwife, learning from my midwife mentors and from the women and families who invited me to homebirth.
My traditional education is an apprenticeship model known as the PEP process through the North American Registry of Midwives.
In addition to my midwifery apprenticeship and education, I gained clinical experience as a medical office assistant in a busy college campus health clinic, as a field life insurance medical examiner and as a phlebotomist. During my midwifery training, I worked at a busy independent birth center owned by a homebirth midwife.
My personal birth experiences include: a cesarean, a VBAC and a homebirth, Each experience had the love and wise support of a midwife.
Born and raised on the beaches of Southern California, I then went on to raise my three beautiful children in the coastal mountains and valleys near Eugene, Oregon. I mostly lived in the country, where I raised my children, planted my gardens and hand built my home. Recently, I had the honor of midwifing my first grandbaby, a dream come true.
My midwifery practice is now serving the families on the island of Maui, Hawaii.
