Amanda Moore, CPM, LDM, MW-22
Certified Professional Midwife | Licensed Midwife

I am a nationally Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and a Licensed Midwife in both Hawaii and Oregon, actively attending births for over 25 years.

My midwifery path began through apprenticeship—learning directly from experienced midwives and from the women and families who welcomed me into their birth journeys. I completed my certification and licensure through the Portfolio Evaluation Process (PEP) of the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), a traditional apprenticeship-based model of education that values hands-on experience and mentorship.

In addition to my midwifery apprenticeship and training, I gained valuable clinical experience as a medical office assistant in a busy college campus health clinic, as a field life insurance medical examiner, and worked as a phlebotomist. During my midwifery education, I also trained at a thriving independent birth center owned by a homebirth midwife, where I attended many births and deepened my clinical and practical skills.

My own birth experiences include a cesarean birth, a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), and a homebirth—each one supported with love and wisdom by dedicated midwives. These experiences have profoundly shaped my understanding and respect for the diversity of birth.

Born and raised on the beaches of Southern California, I later made my home in the coastal mountains and valleys near Eugene, Oregon, where I raised my three children, planted gardens, and hand-built my home in the countryside. Recently, I was blessed with the honor of midwifing my first grandbaby—a full-circle moment and a dream come true.

I’m grateful to serve families across Maui, Hawai‘i—honoring women, celebrating birth, and welcoming babies with love and reverence.
